Public Safety @ Oneida

The Public Safety team at Oneida continues to place a high priority on Oneida’s public safety. We’d like to remind community members of our communication protocol in case of Public Safety News or Alerts.

Public Safety Communications Process

The committee outlined the established communication process for Public Safety news dissemination within the community. Only the Chief and EMS Chiefs (Police, Fire, EMS) will declare and initiate news/alerts. Where possible, we will use the Oneida website, radio station, the Oliwase and the marquees outside of our buildings. The Chief and EMS Chiefs will provide direction to the community if there is need to act. They also initiate the end of an alert (incident resolved).

Public Safety Alert: These notifications are reserved for urgent and immediate information crucial for the safety of the Community.

Public Safety Notice: These notifications inform the community of news, and information, or provide advance notice of safety measures affecting the community.

Police Incidence Reports

As done in previous years, we are publishing quarterly incidents reports this year. This month, we are releasing the 2023 incident report.

Public Safety for All

Keeping our community safe is for all! We ask that we all obey safety and road signs and refrain from dealing with threatening behavior on your own. IMPORTANT: The best way to address public safety for all is by connecting with the numbers below. Emergency Services do not monitor Oneida social media accounts. If you see suspicious activity, vandalism or need to report a crime, call the appropriate Emergency Services:

⦁ 911 for Emergencies

⦁ 1-888-310-1122 or 519-289-5577 for all non-emergency

⦁ 1-800-222-TIPS to leave an anonymous tip for police.
