The Governance Services and Resolution Office was created as part of our vision to create a responsive organization that supports Oneida Nation of the Thames’ community and is led by Martin Powless, long time Oneida community member and advocate for fair treatment.

Our office is also available to you to help resolve issues that are related to community supports and services. Please note that all policies and procedures must be explored before we step in to assist.
Before you come to the office, we ask that you try to solve the problem on your own first. We will
need written documentation of your efforts. We will then ask you to fill out an intake form that also
gives us permission to access any personal information relevant to your issue to help us understand
the whole situation better.
The Governance Services and Resolution Office isn’t an independent group like an ombudsman, but we act as a mediator. We cannot offer legal advice, but we will give support and guidance. We consider many factors when looking at each situation. And while we can’t guarantee a solution for every
case, we aim to provide a supportive and fair environment for anyone seeking help.
We believe that this new office will be beneficial for our community. It gives you a specific place to go when you need help with resources and resolving issues. It will also help identify gaps in processes that can be addressed.
