Oneida Nation of the Thames Fire Hall Secures Donation for Life-Saving Equipment

May 1, 2024

In a significant boost to community safety, the Oneida Nation of the Thames Fire Hall is set to receive a generous $5000 donation from General Dynamics Land Systems (GDLS) – Canada, aimed at enhancing emergency response capabilities. This donation will directly contribute to the purchase of an Automatic External Defibrillator (AED), a crucial device for saving lives during cardiac emergencies.

Fire Chief Glenn Hill expressed gratitude for the corporate contribution, emphasizing its potential impact on the community’s well-being. “This donation is a vital investment in our ability to respond effectively to medical emergencies,” Chief Hill stated. “Having access to an AED can make all the difference in critical situations, and we are immensely grateful to GDLS – Canada for their support.”

Cardiac incidents are one of the leading causes of fatalities nationwide. The donation highlights the commitment of both GDLS – Canada and the Oneida Nation Fire Rescue to ensuring the safety and welfare of community members.

You can join Chief Glenn Hill at the cheque presentation on Friday, May 3 at 3:30 pm. At the Oneida Fire Hall.
