Oneida Nation of the Thames drop off Household Special Waste (HSW) at the City of London Landfill Site.

When dropping off HSW at the depot simply declare that you are a member of the Oneida Nation of the Thames. It is important to keep HSW items out of landfill sites and properly managed for disposal. For a list of HSW items please refer to the Oliwase Newsletter or contact Public Works at (519) 652-6922.

Oneida Nation of the Thames Recycling Program

Recycling Depots are located at the Community Centre, Administration Building and Seniors Complex.

Acceptable items for Recycling:

Glass Products – clear and coloured glass, food and beverage containers, etc.
Plastic Products – all rigid plastic packaging labelled (1-2-3-4-5-6-7), etc.
Metal Products – aluminum and steel beverage and food cans, empty aerosol containers and empty paint cans and metal lids, etc.
Paper Products – newspapers and flyers, magazines, boxes, cartons, etc.

Non-accepted items for Recycling:

Foam – containers of any kind
Hazardous materials – containers holding hazardous materials, etc.
Container – pails or buckets exceeding (20) litre capacity, etc.
Container – biological containers, plant trays or pots, etc.
Plastic items – toys, tools, lawn furniture, etc.
Construction Materials – pipe, hose, tubing, siding, etc.
Garbage Bags – CLEAR BAGS ONLY.

Note: shredded paper must be in plastic bags and all cardboard must be flattened and bundled. The Recycling Truck will only pick up what is in the recycle bin. If you recyclables that will not fit in your recycle bin you can drop them off at a recycling depot. Please refrain placing recyclables in garbage.
