Oneida Health Centre and Oneida Family Healing Lodge have come together to acknowledge International Overdose awareness day. National overdose awareness day happens every August on the 31st. We invite friends & family on Friday August 30th, 2024 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at the Oneida Community Centre to come together to grieve and to encourage action to end one of the world’s most urgent public health crises, and remember the lives lost to
There will be a candlelight vigil to remember those we have lost to drug overdose and opioid-related toxicity; those in the community that are still struggling, and those who are on their own healing journey. Due to the sensitivity of the topic, please remember to respect the solemnity of the occasion and ensure everyone feels welcomed, included and comfortable. Oneida Health centre Counsellors will be on-site, and an Addictions counsellor from CMHA.
We invite our guests to bring their own photo (copy) of their loved one(s) to include on our memorial wall. Please contact Wellness Worker Vanessa Martin at Oneida Health Centre for more information.
