Today, we join communities across Turtle Island in recognizing Black Balloon Day, a digital awareness campaign created and led by Overdose Lifeline. This day honours loved ones lost to overdose and supports families and communities impacted by substance-related harms.
As Oneida Nation of the Thames, we stand with all those who are grieving, healing, or supporting someone on their wellness journey. Our message today is one of compassion, remembrance, and community care.
If you or someone you love is struggling, you are not alone. Support is always available through our health teams, harm-reduction services, and community programs.
Together, we remember. Together, we honour. Together, we walk the good way forward.
