20th Anniversary of Jordan’s Principle

May 10, 2025

“Jordan River Anderson changed the world. Let’s honour him by finishing the work.”

Jordan was a young boy from Norway House Cree Nation. He spent over two years in hospital because governments could not agree on who would pay for the supports, he needed to live at home.

He passed away at the age of 5 — without ever being able to live in a family home.

In 2005, Jordan’s family gave the sacred gift of his name to a movement that would go on to change Canada’s laws: Jordan’s Principle, which says First Nations children must receive the services they need — when they need them.

🧡 We honour Jordan’s life by continuing to push for equality and justice for all First Nations children.
