In 2023, The Ministry of Indigenous Affairs Residential School made funding available to First Nations in their work on Residential Schools.
Responding to community needs, Oneida applied for the funding to start the work.

As part of the Oneida Nation Residential School Project, our team has gathered and continues to gather data on Oneida Nation of the Thames members who attended residential schools. We’re interviewing Survivors and family members to learn about their experiences and ideas for education and community engagement programs.
